The bustling town of Claremorris, is the fastest growing town in Co Mayo and nestles in central Connaught, midway between Galway and Sligo at the junction of the N17 and the N60 national routes. It is easily accessible by rail and bus and is only 20 minutes from Ireland Westport Airport Knock. Claremorris is 25 minutes from the county town of Castlebar, 40 minutes from beautiful Westport and less than an hour from Galway City, Connemara and Sligo. The stunning lakes of Lough Conn, Lough Mask and Lough Corrib are only 30 minutes away.

With excellent amenities, such as the Land of Giant’s 5 km walking trail around the Clare Lake, a public swimming pool, a golf course, equestrian centre, tennis courts, athletics track, indoor children’s playzone, shopping centre and host of restaurants, café’s and bars, Claremorris is a perfect base for touring the rugged West of Ireland and the Wild Atlantic Way.

In addition to the Folk Festival the town also hosts an Annual Agricultural Show and an Annual Drama Festival.
